Enjoys The Mystery of Watercolors

Leada Wood is a contemporary water media artist who enjoys the challenge of watercolor as well as the creativity of collage and mixed media.

She enjoys experimenting and seeing where the next painting takes her. Her works are often noted for their original and unique style, whimsical subject matter and rich color.

She says, “God gives us extraordinary beauty to enjoy and for that I am grateful. Whether I am traveling with my husband Don or just going about my daily life, I find inspiration all around me. Dreams, desires and emotions spark the creative process. Picasso said “Art is Life and Life is Art” and that is so true, everything I have experienced goes into my creations.”

You could catch her carrying a camera with her at all times to capture things that inspire her. The way the light dances across a subject, the colors or textures, even rust can send her into a creative zone.

“I am thankful for the gift of creativity and being able to do the work I love. I hope my art brings a smile to your face, brightens your day and takes you into the world I imagine.”

Leada’s original paintings have been published in Watercolor Magic, Southwest Art, Art Tells The Story, The Colors Of Texas, and International Voices Speaking Through Art. Mrs. Wood exhibits her work in group and solo exhibitions, and is in private collections across the United States, Europe, and Canada.
