The scenic journey unfolds as the train, pulled by its powerful Cumbres & Toltec locomotive leaves the Charma, New Mexico station. We pass through rolling meadows, around mountains, and over the Cascade Creek Trestle to stop at the rustic town site of Osier, Colorado for lunch. On our way back to Charma, New Mexico, we enjoyed watching a herd of elk drinking from the creek and an occasional deer hiding in the white aspen. Traveling on this wonderful old train felt like we were in the old west.
