Although I was born in Texas, I spent my child and teen years in east Tennessee. Having family back that way, my wife and I often travel back to that part of the country. The road is always full of photos opportunities; many of them I work out paintings later. This painting was inspired by one of those photos made during a trip back to Tennessee. Just south of Franklin, Tennessee we came across this old barn. The day was overcast with some drizzling rain coming down at a steady pace. I thought it created a rather interesting mood.
