Pachira aquatica, most commonly referred to as a Money Tree, is a hardy tropical plant native to Central and South America. Commonly believed to bring its owner good luck and prosperity, story goes that a Taiwanese farmer came across its beauty and proceeded to propagate the plant, braiding the stems together. Luckily he was able to built a great business selling this plant, which not only pulled him out of poverty but also spread across the world. Money Trees can be purchased just about everywhere and commonly seen adorning East Asian businesses. When life is given to this plant, it blossoms and returns the kindness several times over serving as a glimmer of hope during dark times.
