Turner, Cecy

Cecy Turner is an award-winning artist who has been painting and instructing for more than forty-five years. She paints in both oil and watercolor and teaches both mediums. Her main inspiration when choosing a subject is the effect of the light on that subject. Her preferred way to paint is plein air, where she can witness firsthand the landscape in all types of light and try to capture a particular moment that she has experienced.

Cecy is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, National Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Outdoor Painters Society, Plein Air Artists Colorado, American Women Artists and Texas and Neighbors. She is a Master Signature Member and Past President of Women Artists of the West, and a member of Oil Painters of America. Articles about Cecy have been published in American Artist Magazine, Art of the West Magazine, Watercolor Artist Magazine (cover, February, 2010), Southwest Art Magazine, Western Art Collector, and the book, The Best of Flower Painting. She was chosen by Southwest Art Magazine as an “Artist to Watch.”
