“Drawing with pencil and crayon as a child, I don’t remember learning the skill…the ability has just always been there.   I have a broad interest for subject matter but I’m drawn to architecture in the landscape.”

“Approximately 70% of my paintings are created on location. I love being outdoors and the rural landscape is my main source for subject matter.  Working from life has always been a part of my creative process. With few exceptions, my sources for inspiration in the studio are my plein air studies. Experience and strong technical skills are essential when painting en plein air; as the light changes and shadows shift; every stroke must be without hesitation to capture that moment in time.  It’s a marathon race with the sun – spirited, emotional, exhausting….and I love it!”
