I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I received a BS Degree from Sam Houston State with a Minor in Fine Art. I studied art at Northeast Texas Community College. After teaching school for 33 years, I retired early to become a full-time artist. I studied art under Earline Barnes in El Paso for 6 years. I also took workshops form Ted Goerschner, Ray Vinella, Xiang Zhang, Joseph Mendez, Ray Roberts and Guido Frick. Most of my work is about Texas or influenced by Texas. Recently, I wrote a book called “Celebration of Texas” including over 150 paintings.
