William Slaughter (1923-2003)
A former Lutheran pastor, William Slaughter’s ministries took him from his birth place of San Antonio to Lubbock, Mexico and Dallas. While in Mexico, he started to hear another calling and began to capture the beauty around him in paint. Largely self-taught, he mastered a variety of subject matter. In Dallas, the popularity of his work, specifically his bluebonnet paintings, spread and he found himself having to make a life altering decision. He chose to devote himself to art. William Slaughter has work displayed in all 50 states and 16 foreign countries.

Porfirio Salinas (1910-1973)
Highly collectible piece by nationally recognized early Texas landscape painter, Porfirio Salinas (1910-1973) now available through Dutch Art Gallery. Works by Salinas are displayed in the Texas State Capitol, the Texas Governor’s Mansion as well as museums including the Witte Museum in San Antonio and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. Lyndon B. and Ladybird Johnson were avid collectors of his work. Lady Bird Johnson was quoted as saying, “I want to see them when I open the door, to remind me of where I come from.”
