I painted this oil from a plein air study I did on site in Rocky Mountain National Park. At the time, the wild roses were in bloom around these aspens and I had never seen that before. The deep pinks contrasted so nicely with all the summer greens that I couldn’t help but do several studies of them and this larger one.
