Pumpernickel is a favorite bread of mine. Dark, slightly sweet, and difficult to find, I thought this was the perfect name for this handsome fellow. Pumpernickel was relaxing in the shade of a large tree and I had to patiently wait for him to emerge in the sun to capture his glistening feathers.
