An odyssey is the only word to describe the process of one of my most complex pieces to date. Three long years separated the moment I met this peacock to the day I sat down and made the first mark. Looking back, the sheer number of delicate feathers was the main point of contention that prevented me from starting – but I’m so glad I followed through. In 2022 Nature’s Jewel received second place in the Pastel Society of the West Coast’s annual member show.
