Georgia O’Keeffe was so struck by this landscape that she purchased her Ghost Ranch studio to paint there in the summers. The sunlit cliffs of Ghost Ranch glow in layers of red, ochre, and cream beneath a bright blue sky. Sharp edges and weathered ridges catch the light, casting soft shadows that reveal their rugged texture. There is a sense of calmness and awe I wanted to capture in this piece.
