The cactus blooms in my backyard were out in full force. I photographed my husband’s large variety of cactus, went to the studio and painted. I like the contrast of the soft, colorful petals and the sharp, wicked needles on the cactus. The oils are painted in layers to create depth and texture…cactus are amazing and interesting subject matter for my paintings!
