A recently developed passion of mine is hunting down iconic, vintage building signs. Not all make for a great painting, but this view of the Hollingsworth Motel just brings back floods of memories of old run-down motels viewed en route on visits to my grandparents.

Perhaps one of my favorite travel destinations of all times is the Texas Hill Country, which features beautiful rolling hills, rocky bluffs, live oak trees, winding roads, rivers, and of course Bluebonnets in the Spring. This scene is near Willow City and U.S. Hwy 16.

During our trip to Tuscany, we visited many of the small hilltop towns which dot the landscape with their cobblestone streets, rich old buildings and ever-present cathedrals. Plus lots of excellent wine.
