This painting is a scene of the old mill located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Right next to the mill is the Little Pigeon Forge River. The mill was built in the early 1800’s, to provide a source for making flour and meals to the early settlers in the area. Today, there is a restaurant & a gift shop adjacent to the mill that provides a place for tourists and locals to come and eat good food. My wife and I had an opportunity to visit this mill and eat in the restaurant, during our summer vacation to the smokies this year. The food is quite good and the portions are big. You will not leave this place hungry. For the painting, I left out the restaurant and just painted the mill itself. I primarily used a warm palette of colors to emphasis the nostalgia.
