In 1899 a 13 year old girl named Mary Elizabeth came to The United States from Reinthal, Austria with her younger brother and sister. They came through Battery Park, NYC because Ellis Island had burned the year before. The only thing she brought from “The Old Country” was this old photo. I inherited this photo and it has almost disappeared. It was a work of love to do the research to find out what color the clothes were, what the trees looked like, and even what color the roofs were.
