Robbins-Karan, Cara

Cara is an oil painting artist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. She lives in Texas and, along with painting, teaches private and group art lessons.

She is inspired by nature, uncultivated and untouched by humans. Her paintings celebrate the magnificent beauty of nature in a gestural, loose style, full of color complexity. She pushes color, expressing every hue in all her subjects. An important element of her work is that she emphasizes light and shadow by using a wide range of values, and both warm and cool tones. She works with a variety of impressionistic brush strokes from refined and detailed to large, thick, and chunky.

Cara paints places she wants to be and subjects she wants to look at. Her goal is to paint environments that she wants to step into and exist with. She feels she has achieved success when her heart aches to be there.
