The Cardinals are abundant in our woods and are especially striking on grey winter days as they are a stark contrast to the somber shades of winter. I created a Bokeh effect in the background to give interest and a wintery feel to the scene of a lone Cardinal. I wanted the viewer to experience the intimacy of the scene as if they had happened upon it.
