I painted this piece at my favorite local park, Creve Coeur Lake Memorial in Saint Louis, MO. This is a massive recreational area with 2,145 acres, including the main lake of 400 acres. There is never a shortage of things to paint there.

I was attracted by the backlight that highlighted the beautiful colors of Autumn leaves on the trees. The complementary colors of the background create the balanced harmony that makes this painting an inviting scene.
