Flowers always spring up moments of joy in our day with their vibrant and delicate petals reaching for some sun. Hence why they always been a source of inspiration for us painters. I love creating this impression of the Itoh Bartzella Peony whose origin begins with Japanese Horticulturist, Dr. Toichi Itoh in 1948 as one of the first 7 peony hybrids. It originally sold for $500-$1,000 due to the fact that before Tiochi’s breakthrough it was deemed genetically impossible to breed herbaceous peonies with tree peonies.
