When on a hike in March up to Alberta Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park, we passed by a scene with the light coming through the trees that I knew I had to try to capture in paint. Everything was just about frozen over, so I showed more of the river than I could actually see, so that it could lead the viewer to the beautiful light in the back.
