Texas Tree Frogs by Christopher Burns

Original Hand Engraved Glass using Diamond and Stone burrs

This is a lighthearted nature study of tree frogs commonly found in North Texas. The leaves are modeled after spring peach tree leaves that grow in my neighborhood. I portrayed in various states of activity, from sleeping to climbing, i an attempt to capture their paradoxical clumsy grace. I’ve done this in an illustrative style giving the little frogs a sense of readiness and movement (except our sleepy friend). All after their buzzing quarry, so frustratingly far away. Yet close enough to keep their attention.
