Reclining No. 5 by Patrick Michael Reeves

Original Oil on Panel
48×36 Unframed

The attempt of “Reclining No 5.” was to show realism through a small pallet. While only four colors were used, the end result has the viewer imagine the other colors as you may do when looking at a washed out photo.

The design of all my pieces is to fragment realism. I consider my end result a “realistic” interpretation of the subject, but I use “destruction” to allow the viewer to interpret the realism through their own eyes. There is also an intended attempt to give the view minimal amounts of information or surrounding chaos to let the viewer form their own conclusions where information has been left out.
