Crystal Blue Persuasion by Bob Shepherd

Original Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
40×30 Unframed

“Don’t paint outside the lines!” How many times did our mom’s or art teachers tell us that growing up? I always tell my art students to draw your own lines. With “Crystal Blue Persuasion” I tried to break every one of those “Art Rules” and still make a beautiful painting while thinking “Outside the Box”. There is no focal point. I know the horizon is too high, all my art friends told me that. I used black, silver, and pearl, but no red or yellow. And every color I used was straight out of the tube. I varnished with High Gloss, Satin, and Flat. The entire painting is “Sharp” edges. And there are NO SHADOWS.
