William Slaughter (1923-2003)
A former Lutheran pastor, William Slaughter’s ministries took him from his birth place of San Antonio to Lubbock, Mexico and Dallas. While in Mexico, he began to hear another calling and began to capture the beauty around him in paint. Largely self-taught, he mastered a variety of subject matter. In Dallas, the popularity of his work, specifically his bluebonnet paintings, spread and he found himself having to make a life altering decision. He chose to devote himself to art.
