A Canopy of Wildflowers by Lauren Chan

Original Pastel on Specialty Paper
16×12 Unframed

This drawing is based on one of my favorite photos taken during a “superbloom” in Southern California. From a distance, millions of Tidy Tips (a wildflower native to the West Coast) transformed the hills and valley into a beautiful yellow in the spring. I took an opportunity to photograph the flowers from the ground level and loved the unusual perspective.
