Phipps, Jim

Jim is an impressionistic painter who uses oil as his medium of choice. He paints using impasto technique which allows him to give texture to a painting, making light reflect in a particular way to give the painting an almost three-dimensional appearance. He especially enjoys painting scenes of the Southwest and the Texas Hill Country .

Jim is an award-winning, Texas artist with studios in McKinney, TX and Fredericksburg, TX and is an active member of Oil Painters of America, Artists of Texas, Richardson Art Society.
