Cactus flowers fascinate and intrigue me. Their elegance is surrounded by the harsh, spiny cactus plant, and the bloom generally only lasts one day. I was fortunate enough to photograph this beauty while visiting the botanical garden in Phoenix Arizona one spring day where I was later able to use my photo to do this painting in my studio.
