Roadrunner by Brenda Brannon

Original Mixed Media on Gallery Wrap Canvas

18 x 24 Unframed

The first thing that comes to mind when I see a roadrunner is the sound “Beep Beep” as Roadrunner zips by and successfully escapes the jaws of Wile Coyote in one of the all time favorite Looney Tunes cartoons of my childhood. The humor never gets old. Designated as the state bird of New Mexico, some roadrunners have been clocked running at 20 miles per hour. Also, an interesting fact which I attempted to capture in this abstract is the very distinct “x” track marks appearing as if they are traveling in both directions. I don’t recall the “x” track marks showcased in any of the Looney Tunes series, but I feel certain Wile Coyote was greatly confused every time he noticed Roadrunner’s tracks pointing in opposite directions!
