“Appalachian Retreat” is my first painting from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. To give you a little history, this cabin was built by Noah Bud Ogle, a mountain farmer in the late nineteenth century. Ogle’s Cabin was known as a “saddlebag cabin”, which is two single pen cabins joined together by a common chimney. The design of this cabin is quite rare for this area. Nearby is Leconte Creek and Roaring Forks. It is very peaceful and quite here. Definitely a good place to relax and spend time with nature.
