SOULSCAPES with Lisa Adams ReedNOW SHOWING THROUGH NOVEMBER

DALLAS, TX – Santa Fe, New Mexico artist, Lisa Adams Reed was overwhelmed with so much love from friends as far back as the first grade. Local followers attended and some who have traveled as far as Aubrey, Texas. Fans sent in baskets of flowers and a gorgeous wildflower centerpiece that was displayed right in front of her showcase.

The Dutch Art Gallery had one wall covered with 40 works in all sorts of sizes that were either on panel board or canvas. Some were framed in custom wood boxes or gallery wrapped. The work primarily consisted with inspirations of Nell, a close friend who had passed. By taking a glance, one may believe that most of the work is just trees or pops of colors.

Lisa shared, “It’s like carving through my emotions and peeling layers away like it is an onion. And if I did not like how it was going…I just added more layers and carved some more.”

The colors used expressed a wide range of emotions from sadness to joy. Moving the palette knife with the frosting-like mix of cold wax and oil that produced unusual textures forming another additive in each of the works. It all expressed her mood, her passion and thoughts of her muse.

She happily informed the crowd that you are welcome to touch her art. That it was just another way to connect with her work. By meeting her in person you would never think that she has experienced any hardships. Her perspective on life changed a few years ago when she had a stroke that left her blind in one eye. What could have been a tragedy she turned it around to be a blessing. She poured into her art work from a different perspective. Passionately finding what will be her new strength in her creations. She truly expresses pure joy through her art and in real life.

“Lisa Adams Reed won our people’s choice award at our 2014 Spring Show, “Join The Escape To The Great Outdoors”. Since then in such a short time representing her, it has been a non stop interest in folks from all over viewing and buying her art. We are very proud to have her work in our gallery. We have very few artists that use the mixture of cold wax and oil and do really well. This year we started opening to more contemporary mixed media including encaustic.” says, Pam Massar, owner of The Dutch Art Gallery.
