Becky ParksMy art reflects a moment in time, peaceful and pensive, colorful and exciting.

Becky has always been interested in oil painting, art and architecture, but life put her ambitions on hold until recently retiring. Now numerous travels to Europe have enabled her to acquire the true feeling of Provence and Tuscany. Enjoying the same light in the south of France that drew the masters such as Monet, Cezanne, and Renoire, she captures the brightly painted shutters, the lavenders fields and the sunflowers of that special area.

The medieval villages of St Paul de Vence, Gourdon and Eze to mention a few, offer many architectural opportunities for stunning paintings. Had she been born in another time she would have designed the medieval villages of France, but now recreating their distinct beauty on canvas is her way of preserving the past as well as holiday memories. Being fluent in the French language has been a huge benefit while traveling throughout France and Europe.

I use subdued tones for my architectural landscapes in France, then bring out the vibrant sunflowers and lavender fields. The medieval villages with such history and the incredible fields of flowers with such a bright future are special to me. Art takes me back to places I love and gives me hope that I will be fortunate enough to see them again. But until then, I can enjoy my paintings and reflect on my special moments.
